This camp will allow your child to explore different aspects of themselves through drama, art, nature connection and movement. The instructors for this camp are Bri, Andre and Shea at the amazing Confluence Arts Center.

Over the week we will teach and practice new skills and avenues for creative expression, culminating in a creative, emergent "performance" of authentic creative expression at the end of the week.

We utilize the following modalities to support creative expression in a safe container:  role play, community building, improvisation, expressive movements, handicrafts and visual arts, mindfulness, somatic (body) awareness and nature as a mirror. 15 spots available

Morning: Community circle, movement & mindfulness (infusion of dance, yoga, qi gong or other somatic supports)

Mid morning: collective drama activity, story, songs,  or wilderness  experience

Lunch: Please pack a lunch from home

Afternoon: Arts, crafts and creative expression

Late afternoon: Games, free play & closing circle

This camp will allow your child to retreat into a full nature immersion, with hands on skill building. Drawing upon the Wilderness Awareness Institute, and their practices in nature education, this. is an opportunity for your kid to learn things that are often not taught in school..

This is a great opportunity for kids to begin to feel at home in the natural world, discover their interests, pique the curiosities about the way things work and put skills and questions to use. We will engage in community building with eachother and the natural world. And will practice skill- building such as: cordage, knife skills, fire-building, wild foods, working with clay, handicrafts, and sensory awareness games.

Youth Physical and Emotional Safety Policy:

We hold contract with program leaders who are licensed educators, educational assistants, or have at the very least received a basic background check. Our adult to child ratio is always 6 youth-1 adult. Since we are doing a majority of our educating outdoors, there is always at least one guide who is CPR trained and basic first aid care. Our focus is creating safe agreements for youth to speak their truth, feel both physically and mentally safe. We do this by creating basic community agreements that we reflect upon each day. We utilize non-violent communication practices and focus on repair vs punishment when solving problems between youth or staff.

Payment policy: Please note full payment for camps is due by May 1st. Payment links will be sent upon registration and will be due by May 1st.

Cancellation policy: `Please note the cancellation deadline is May 1st. If you cancel before May 1st that gives us enough time to offer the spot to another child.
