-John Muir

This camp will allow your child to retreat into a full nature immersion, with hands on skill building and plenty of FUN!
Drawing upon the Wilderness Awareness Institute, and their practices in nature education, this. is an opportunity for your kid to learn things that are often not taught in school..
This is a great opportunity for kids to begin to feel at home in the natural world, discover their interests, pique the curiosities about the way things work and put skills and questions to use. We will engage in community building with eachother and the natural world. And will practice skill- building such as: cordage, knife skills, fire-building, wild foods, working with clay, handicrafts, and sensory awareness games.

Youth Physical and Emotional Safety Policy:
We hold contract with program leaders who are licensed educators, educational assistants, or have at the very least received a basic background check. Our adult to child ratio is always 6 youth-1 adult. Since we are doing a majority of our educating outdoors, there is always at least one guide who is CPR trained and basic first aid care. Our focus is creating safe agreements for youth to speak their truth, feel both physically and mentally safe. We do this by creating basic community agreements that we reflect upon each day. We utilize non-violent communication practices and focus on repair vs punishment when solving problems between youth or staff.
Payment policy: Please note full payment for camps is due by May 1st.
Cancellation policy: `Please note the cancellation deadline is May 1st. If you cancel before May 1st that gives us enough time to offer the spot to another child.
Refund policy: Full refunds are offered in lieu of an emergency, otherwise any collected payment will be credited towards future offerings.
Sickness policy: If the instructor(s) is sick, or out for an emergency, you will receive a credit towards the future offerings.
